A Patchwork of Poetry

Clover

In the 72 poems contained in this collection, Sara deBeer explores a wide variety of topics, from her visit with her husband to an exhibit of Matisse's paintings to the existential meaning of a hammer; from the music of footsteps on different floor surfaces to the voices of various characters in different folk and fairy tales. Sara employs a variety of poetic forms: most are written in free verse but the collection also contains sonnets, pantoums, and villanelles. Of Sara's previous collection, "Traveling Backward Through Time" (also published through lulu.com), one reader wrote, "I devoured poem after poem because I was drawn in your world in such an intense way." Another wrote, "Sara's exquisite poems speak to my heart and never fail to render me speechless . . . Sara's poems evoke vivid images in my mind's eye that stay with me long after I've read them."

I will be going back to it again because i was drawn to your world in such an intense way that I devoured poem after poem. I want to go back and sip it carefully to make sure I properly appreciate the light passing through each crystal gem before going on to appreciate the next one.
